Acclimating Monstera tissue culture (TC) plants—whether Thai Constellation, Albo, or rare Adansonii—is a slightly different process than Alocasia. Monsteras are generally tougher, but highly variegated plants are prone to melting (bacterial rot) if they stay too wet or do not receive enough light.
Monsteras are climbers and need excellent oxygen at the root zone. A breathable setup is critical from day one.
Monstera roots are thicker than Alocasia roots, which makes agar easier to remove—but also easier for bacteria to hide.
Proper planting depth prevents rot at the stem base and petioles.
Monsteras grow quickly but are sensitive to damping-off if rushed.
