Rare Root Labs is a U.S.-based wholesale tissue culture company located in Easley, South Carolina and attached to a licensed nursery. What started as a greenhouse operation focused on growing out tissue culture plants eventually turned into something much bigger after we repeatedly experienced the same frustrations many wholesale buyers face today.
From Greenhouse Growers to Trusted Wholesale Suppliers
We built Rare Root Labs around transparency, consistency, communication, and delivering tissue culture plants we would personally feel comfortable buying ourselves.
The wholesale division was created almost by accident
Our core business originally focused on growing out tissue culture plants in large trays inside our greenhouse. Because of that, we were constantly sourcing tissue culture plants from different labs and wholesalers around the world looking for strong genetics, consistent quality, and reliable delivery.
Unfortunately, what we found over time was a growing number of fake wholesale tissue culture companies, low-quality tissue culture suppliers, missing shipments, poor communication, damaged plants, inconsistent genetics, and business practices that left buyers completely unprotected.
We personally experienced situations where money was lost, shipments never arrived, plants showed up in poor condition, or promised inventory simply was not included. After dealing with these problems over and over again, we realized we could not possibly be the only people going through it.
We built the company we wished existed when we were buying
Rare Root Labs was created to help wholesale buyers avoid the same issues we personally experienced. We know what it feels like to spend money on tissue culture plants and wonder if the shipment will arrive, if the quality will actually match the photos, or if someone will disappear once payment is sent.
Because of that, every lab we work with today has been personally tested and vetted through multiple orders over several months. We did not choose labs based on marketing promises, we chose them based on actual consistency, communication, plant quality, packaging, and long-term reliability.
Today, we work closely with a small hand-selected group of trusted labs that we personally use to supply our own greenhouse operations as well as our wholesale customers across the United States. That includes greenhouses, nurseries, plant shops, Palmstreet sellers, Whatnot sellers, Etsy sellers, online plant businesses, and collectors scaling their inventory.
